WATT ABOUT LUMEN?
When you google Lumen you get this specified: 'A Russian rock band, an astroid, a US Navy ship'. All very interesting, but not the Lumen we're talking about.
Do you want to know how powerful or how strong a light source is? Then you have to look at the Lumen. Lumen stands for the light intensity per Watt and therefore indicates how much light a lamp provides. Not to be confused with the wattage of a lamp. Watts can tell more about the amount of energy the lamp expresses, Lumens the light output.
That is why it is important that you know what Lumen stands for and how much you need when choosing your light sources! Together with the color temperature, the Lumen largely determines the look & feel of your interior.
How many Lumen you need depends on several factors. Take a look at the size and shop of your room, height of the ceilings and the function of the lamp. In addition, incoming daylight and the colors of the environment also play an important role.
We like to give a good starting point and therefore got the basic data in the scheme below
You can immediately see that you have different needs in one and the same room. Take the kitchen for example. When cutting the vegetables for dinner, I think it is advisable to have enough light. This is in contrast to the breakfast bar the next morning. That's why we recommend that you go for dimmable LED lamps at Atmooz. This way you can choose which light intensity is perfect for you, at any time of the day.
Lumen vs Watt
The lower the wattage of a lamp, the less energy it consumes. So keep in mind that a lamp with a lower power can give less light. LED and energy-saving lamps have the highest Lumen/Watt ratio and are therefore the most efficient. At Atmooz we have what we believe to be the ideal light source for each of our designs. We go all the way for LED simply because you can't ignore the advantages of LED. In addition, we think it is important that all our light sources are dimmable so that you can determine the atmosphere yourself...
