For Rowéna, interior design isn’t just about how something looks, but above all about how it feels. “Interior design is very important to me, because I spend a lot of time at home. You need to feel comfortable in your own home.”
That philosophy is reflected in her choices. “I love working with natural tones and materials such as stone and wood. I combine these with soft fabrics like bouclé.”
This combination creates a warm and soft atmosphere. No harsh contrasts, just subtle transitions. “I don’t like clutter. Nothing should stand out too sharply. I prefer soft contrasts.”

After years in the spotlight, Rowéna has made a conscious choice to find peace at home. “My life can be hectic at times. That’s exactly why I need a cosy, peaceful atmosphere at home.”
Her home is the place where she can let go of everything for a while. Where she puts her phone aside and can enjoy the little moments. “The sitting area is my favourite spot. That’s where I really unwind. And my little boy has his play area right behind the sofa.” That combination of life and tranquillity makes the interior personal and authentic.
From the spotlight to balance
The period when her life was constantly on display on television and social media is now behind her. “I didn’t always enjoy that time. Today, I’ve made a conscious decision to keep my private life more private.”
That choice is also reflected in her home. Fewer distractions, more peace. Less of the outside world, more of a sense of home. “Home is truly our place. That feels good.”
Choosing quality and sustainability
Rowéna makes conscious choices when it comes to her interior. Quality is her top priority. “I think it’s important that products are sustainable and have a longer lifespan.”
That also means she doesn’t rush into purchases, but invests in pieces that will last. “My interior isn’t quite finished yet. For example, I’m still missing decorative items such as decorative cushions. It could do with being a bit cosier.” That evolution is part of the process. An interior grows alongside life.

One of the most important elements in her home is the lighting. She was specifically looking for an eye-catching feature above her dining table – something that not only provides light but also creates atmosphere.
